What to Expect

Bringing together symbiotic yogic, buddhist and taoist meditative practices, Zen Vinyasa combines the dynamic vinyasa method with the peaceful zazen, drawing from the traditional practice of ‘moving zen’ [動禪] to realise the interbeing of movement and stillness and our true nature, the perfect peace that is inherent in all of us.

Practice includes a series of conditioning, strengthening and stretching movements, breathing techniques, mindfulness and meditative practices. There is occasionally the use of a singing bowl and light background music to help enter the flow. Pace is mindful and alignment-focused.

This is an open-level class, meaning beginners and more seasoned yogis practice together in a non-judgemental space. We welcome complete beginners. The beginner’s mind gives you an added advantage to practice more deeply and openly. If you are unsure and/or need guidance, please speak to Jesse before the class starts, or raise your hand at any point. She will be more than happy to assist you.

Time 6:30-7:30pm Fridays
