La Posada Del Agua x The Breathing Space Retreat

La Posada Del Agua is a delightful rural retreat, nestled on the highest hill of the Badajoz region of Extremadura, Spain. The plot of land was purchased by our dear friends Ewan and Jose six years ago. Since then, they have created a kingdom of serenity and have been opening it to small numbers of guests for the past two years. 

At an elevation of 900meters, we share yoga practice on a handmade wooden platform beneath a chestnut tree, share home made vegan fare on the terrace under the stars, and walk through the beautiful, unspoilt landscape. 

A day on retreat may involve two yoga classes, a massage, a hike, an opportunity to make a candle or balm with essential oils harvested from the farm. Or simply relaxing by the fresh-water alberca, reading on the terrace, sketching, conversing, sleeping! Whatever you need. 

This is an authentic rural farm with a vibrant array of creatures- cats, dogs, birds, sheep and goats are on site. Single occupancy is an option, however, we usually encourage people to share with one other person; so this is a delightful opportunity to invite a close friend or partner. For any open-minded solo traveller, there’s the chance to opt for shared occupancy and strike up new friendships. 

All food, transfers connecting to our recommended flights, yoga and daily activities are included. On-site (and highly recommended) massage is an added extra. 

The nearest airport is Seville, and we highly recommend you include a night in your trip there to enjoy this very beauty city.

I feel like we went through some kind of time warp, like those few days somehow felt way longer, time just stretched out in the best way. I am still catching whiffs of the Spanish countryside and sunshine in my head. Thanks Jose and Ewan for the most incredible hosting, and to Emily for the most incredible sessions.
